Right to Read Advocacy Offers Membership Opportunity for Advocates and Related Professionals Focused on Empowering Dyslexic Learners

Weston, Conn. (Sept., 5th, 2023)Right to Read Advocacy, LLC, a specialized service that supports families and children through the journey of dyslexia diagnosis, is now offering membership to special education advocates and related professionals as the consultancy expands on a national scale. Jennifer Bernheim, a mother of three, founded the consultancy following her youngest son’s dyslexia diagnosis to help others navigate the often-challenging processes required to get dyslexic thinkers the help they need in public school districts.

Right to Read Advocacy’s yearly membership provides business consulting and administrative support for special education advocates and related professionals, including but not limited to evaluators, special education teachers and tutors, who are focused on educating and empowering dyslexic students and their families. Membership is ideal for independent professionals seeking business growth opportunities with support from a sizable network of fellow education consultants.

“When I launched Right to Read Advocacy, I talked with many parents who faced similar struggles with the educational system when it came to getting our children the help needed to become proficient readers,” Bernheim said. "Being a parent of a child with dyslexia can be isolating and having a network makes all the difference. We’ve translated that benefit to our business model. Our member network is committed to educating and empowering families of dyslexic learners. We are focused on being a nationwide resource for families who need support.”

As part of the membership launch, Right to Read Advocacy welcomes new members Allison Meyerson and Catherine Scholl.

Advocate Allison Meyerson is a retired teacher with over thirty years of experience. She was a Literacy Specialist providing intensive interventions to students with reading difficulties, primarily those diagnosed with dyslexia. She is acutely aware that parents need professional support when navigating the inner workings of school districts, which inspired her to become an educational advocate. Meyerson is Level IV Orton-Gillingham certified through Fairleigh Dickinson University, which is a program accredited at the International Multisensory Structured Language Education Council (IMSLEC) Teaching Level. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from SUNY New Paltz and a master’s degree in Literacy from Fordham University.

Advocate and literacy evaluator Catherine Scholl brings a unique and personal perspective to educational advocacy rooted in her extensive experience with special education. As a parent of two students with disabilities, a former special education teacher and an educational advocate, she has participated in all aspects of navigating the special education process and wants to ensure that every student receives an equal and quality education that will set them up for academic and personal success.

Scholl holds Orton Gillingham Teacher Graduate Certification from Fairleigh Dickenson University (IMSLEC accredited). Additionally, she is also trained and certified to administer the academic evaluations necessary to identify strengths and weaknesses in a student's learning profile and will offer these services to her clients.

Benefits of Right to Read Advocacy membership are numerous.
